Dear all distinguished ladies and gentlemen, and all visitors from the whole world!

I am pleased to tell the 20th Korea Prime Minister Cup International Baduk Championship is held in Taebaek City, Gangwon-do, and would like to express my sincere gratitude to every visitor.

KPMC, which began in 2006, is now celebrating its 20th competition. For 20 years, the competition has been a venue for globalization and international exchange of Baduk, and has established itself as a valuable festival where Baduk players from all over the world gather to compete in skills and share friendships.

In particular, a new division, Youth Representative Division is established in this year, and with youth players from 28 countries participating in as well as national players from 52 countries. Baduk, which creates unlimited change with just two colored stones, Black and White, is a universal language to transcend borders and cultures and connects humanity as one.

Taebaek City, where the 20th KPMC will be held, is a perfect place to show the potential of Korean Baduk. Here is the place where the spirit of Baekdudaegan, the central mountain range of the Korean Peninsula, breathes. I hope the fierce and beautiful games played by all players could be a new milestone in Baduk development.

I wish all of you achieve good results with your perfect skills. In addition, I hope the relationship formed during this KPMC will be the global cornerstone of the bright future of Baduk.

Finally, I would like to express my deep gratitude to Korean prime minister, Mr. Min-seok KIM for supporting this competition, Gangwon-do Governor, Mr. Jin-tae KIM for hosting this competition, and Taebaek Mayor, Mr. Sang-ho LEE and all staffs and committee.

Sincerely,

Keun-yool HA, president of Korea Baduk Federation
