Ladies and Gentlemen! Welcome! I am really pleased to see you in this event. With the
1st Mind Sports Games in Beijing China, this tournament will play an important role in
harmonizing the go players all over the world.
Besides 68 international representatives, lots of guest officials from IGF, EGF, AGF and
so on, are invited to this festival. There will be some important events during the
tournament. The AGF General Assembly will be held and Workshop on How to develop
Go by the go teachers from all over the world will take place.
Go-yang, the venue of the tournament, is one of the most prominent global and cultural
cities in Korea. It has held a lot of international exhibitions and conferences in KINTEX. I
hope this tournament is a help to develop go through the world and every participant has an
excellent result.
Finally I wish to thank Mr. Han Seung-soo, the Prime Minister, and Mr. Kang Hyun-seok,
the mayor of Ko-yang city, for sponsoring and supporting this excellent tournament, also

Dear the representatives from all over the world!
On behalf of 980,000 Goyang citizens, I sincerely congratulate the 3rd Korea Prime Minister Cup International
Amateur Baduk Championship and warmly welcome you to visit Goyang, the city of culture and art. I would like to
thank Mr. Cho Keun-ho, the president of the Korea Amateur Baduk Association, the staff and the persons concerned
for the great efforts for having prepared this event.
As you know this tournament has become a major international event and it plays a great role in activating Baduk
through the world. It is a great pleasure to hold this tournament in our city. Goyang was recognized one of the Most
Active Ten Cities in the world with Munich, London etc. by the magazine News Week in 2006. It has become an
international city with the great capacity of culture, art, educational welfare and abundant sports infra. This summer our
Jang Mi-ran won a gold medal in weight lifting in Beijing Olympic Games breaking world records. The 2008 Asian
Club Weight Lifting Championships were successfully held here in Go-yang city. Also next year the World Weight
Lifting Championships will be held in our city.
Now Ko-yang will become the Mecca of the world weight lifting. Furthermore, we are hosting the 3rd KPMC Cup.
During the period I hope you enjoy the Lake Park , Singing Fountain and so on. Finally I hope all the participants do
their best and achieve the best results, and make unforgettable memories.

I am pleased to welcome distinguished guests and players from different countries. I
express my sincere congratulations on the 3rd Prime Minister Cup Amateur Baduk
Championship held in Koyang city.
Baduk, precious cultural heritage, helps communicate with each other and it is flourishing
as a mind sport with Chess.
Last October, 2008, World Mind Sports Games was held in Beijing and 4,000 players
participated in this event. Korea Baduk players won the two Gold medal for Man and Team
tournament.
I am certain that this championship will be the greatest amateur Baduk festival in Korea. I
hope this tournament encourages contribution and promotion of Baduk and units all Baduk
lovers.
Lastly, I am very grateful for generous help from Mr.CHO Kun-ho, the president of Korea
Amateur Baduk Association, Mr.Kim Mun-soo, the governer of Gyeonggi province,
Mr.KANG Hyun-seok, the mayor of Goyang city, and the people concerned of organizing
