It is my great pleasure to congratulate the opening of the 2nd Korea Prime Minister Cup International Amateur Baduk Championship in Suwon city where the World Heritage site, Hwasung, is situated.
In this championship, 68 representative players from all over the world are participating. This championship became an international Baduk championship representing Korean Baduk.
Baduk is a core of oriental culture and an excellent mind sport. It is often called ‘Sudam(Hand-talk)’ because it opens players’ mind and helps communicate each other. Through this championship, the ‘manual language’ encourages friendship between participants and promotes cultural exchange.
Hoping all participants do their best and this event would be successful, I sincerely appreciate all efforts of organizers of Korea Amateur Baduk Association, Suwon city, Gyeonggi-do Provincial Office, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and all the persons concerned.
