Mr. Seo-won YOON (17 Y.O.) wins the 19th Korea Prime Minister Cup (KPMC) selection in Korea.
Mr. YOON defeated Mr. Tae-heon KIM at the final held in June 9, and be the Korean representative, the No. 1 among the 88 strong players.
Mr. YOON, who is currently studying at Ryu dong-wan Dojang, said “The final round was the toughest for me. Having six rounds in two days was not a problem for me as I am used to many rounds in a day”, adding, “I heard last year’s KPMC champion was a Chinese representative, which inspires me to get it back to Korea, the host country with my best.”
Meanwhile, marking its 19th anniversary since 2006, the KPMC is a competitive Baduk championship with the largest participants. There were 56 representative players from each country and terriotory for last KPMC.
This year, the 19th KPMC will be held from Sep. 20 to 26 in Taebaek, Gangwon Province.
