Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the very first on-line KPMC

Afreeca TV announced on the 10th that it will broadcast real-time the 15th Prime Minister's World Baduk Championship to be held by the Korea Baduk Federation.



A total of 61 athletes from 61 countries will participate. This competition will be held for the first time through Tygem, an on-line Baduk platform, due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.



The event will run until August 29. After a total of three preliminary rounds finished, the final stage will be held from Aug 15th. The final will be held on the 29th.


In Korea, Lee Eui-hyun, a high school student at Chungam High School, will compete as a representative. Four Baduk professionals selected by the Korea Baduk Federation will broadcast on Afreeca TV. Lee Min-won, head of Africa TV's content strategy business division, said, "We will also provide various support for the e-sportsization of Go content so that more people can enjoy the content called Go more closely."
